March 7th, 2013

By Bob Weed, Copper Development Association (CDA) Vice President and OEM

I recently had the opportunity to talk with Pete Savagian,  General Director, Electrification/Electric Drive Systems, General Motors, about GM’s participation in SAE Electric Powertrain Symposium forums.

Pete cites many benefits for automotive engineers who attend the SAE technical symposiums including discussions with professional peers, sharing technical information about GM’s developments, and interactions with important automotive suppliers. He also shares his insights about why GM automotive engineers are not only engaged but enthusiastic about their work and the ongoing innovation process in the area of electric vehicle design and manufacturing. Finally, Pete describes teamwork on projects that become a reality-on-the-road and the sense of accomplishment, pride, and contribution GM engineers achieve while creating a legacy of transportation accomplishments.
